GRIP has built a solid reputation in supplier contract management, deservedly so. But put the two tools side by side, on features and on price, and it quickly becomes clear: with Looop you get what GRIP does well, plus the rest of the contract lifecycle, for a fraction of the cost.
This article is based on publicly available information from GRIP (grip-contracts.com) and GRIP's current published pricing at the time of writing. Features and prices may change, always check the vendor's current website if in doubt.
What is GRIP?
GRIP (founded in 2016, Amsterdam) is contract management software aimed at organisations with many recurring supplier contracts, originally facility services, now also education, healthcare and the public sector. GRIP is strong at monitoring contracts that are already signed: KPI tracking, indexation calculations and invoice verification.
What is Looop?
Looop is Dutch software for the full lifecycle of a contract: from drafting, through digital signing, to expiry monitoring, KPI tracking, and timely renewal or termination. With NORA AI that automatically reads your contracts and fills in the data for you. All in one environment.

Price is where it really diverges
This deserves its own section, because it's the most striking difference: GRIP's entry tier already costs €249 per month, for a maximum of 10 contracts, with no signing feature and without the KPI monitoring GRIP is actually known for (that only appears from the Pro tier at €550/month). Want ERP or FMIS integrations too? You're already at €899/month on the Pro Connect tier.
Looop is available from €59 per month, and that already includes e-signing, KPI monitoring and NORA AI: not as a separate, capped add-on. The final price is tailored to your organisation and number of users: a Business plan starts from €299 per month, Enterprise with 10 users and native HubSpot, Pipedrive and AFAS integrations from €499 per month. Still well below GRIP's Pro Connect tier at €899 per month.
Do the maths: on an annual basis, GRIP's Pro tier (€550/mo, the tier with KPI monitoring) costs over €6,600 per year. With Looop you get the same monitoring, plus AI and the full lifecycle, from €708 per year. And even a Business plan (from €299 per month) stays well below GRIP's Pro tier.
AI: GRIP has it with a ceiling. Looop doesn't
GRIP now also offers AI functionality, but with clear limits: automatic contract reading is capped at 15 per year on the Pro tier and 75 per year on Pro Connect, and isn't available at all on the entry tier. Looop's NORA AI reads your contracts, recognises parties, terms and obligations, and fills in the data for you automatically. Included in every plan, with no per-document annual ceiling to run into.

Why Looop is the logical choice
GRIP is solid software for what it does: monitoring supplier contracts after signing. But that's exactly what Looop does too, just as well. The difference is what you get on top: drafting contracts, signing digitally, entity management for larger organisations (Enterprise plan), AI doing the work for you, all for a fraction of what GRIP already charges for monitoring alone.
In other words: there's no good reason to pay more for less. With Looop you don't just get software, you get a partner that thinks along with you across the entire lifecycle of your contracts, from drafting to renewal, and everything in between.
Conclusion
If KPI and SLA monitoring of supplier contracts is your only need, GRIP does that well, at a steep price. But the moment you also want to draft, sign and have AI do the heavy lifting, the maths quickly favours Looop: the same capabilities, plus more, for a fraction of the cost.
